The Stadel Lion Man

2021 - 00:25

As a society we often see our distant ancestors as far seperate from us - unevolved animals who care about nothing but survival. They were however much more human than we give them credit for. Despite the dangers that they faced living their nomadic lifestyles evidence shows that these prehistoric people had a strong sense of family, art and altruism.

The Stadel Lion Man figurine is an ancient anthropomorphic carving from approx. 40,000 years ago.

Human footprints were found in New Mexico dating back 11,500 years. They show ancient children playing in puddles.
